I know I don't usually review places but I loved this hotel so much that I thought it deserved a post!

After several searches for a last minute getaway I came across this beautiful hotel in Alanya, Turkey. Now initially I weren't too keen on travelling to Turkey with everything that had been going on out there, but having done some research I discovered that it was deemed safe to travel and that we would be far enough from the madness anyway. So yeah we took the chance and booked the trip, and am I glad we did!

Location
Now I must warn you the hotel is a good few hours away from the airport (Antalya), there is a smaller airport nearby however their frequency of flights isn't great. We took the shared transfer that was included in our package with Thomas Cook, which is great value for money however can get quite tedious having to stop off at numerous hotels on the way. As our hotel was the furthest away we were the last to get dropped off and of course, the first to be picked up on the day of departure. Which meant that we had the "joy" of 8+ stops both ways! However, when we finally arrived at the hotel and saw the beauty of it, we were no longer bothered about the journey. The hotel is basically set on the beach, there is an under-path by the pool that leads you right on to the beach so you haven't even got to cross any roads. There is a cash point, a pharmacy and a supermarket literally minutes away, and several other shops, restaurants & bars just a bit further down the road - still less than 10 mins away! Unfortunately I have no knowledge of any nearby attractions or other things to do locally, as we literally only left the hotel once lol. But, good ol' trip advisor will always have your back!

Room
We stayed in a Standard Side Sea View room that consisted of a double bed and a large sofa that could easily sleep a third person. The room had a nice sized balcony that looked out onto the hotel front, with a side view of the sea as the room type states. Despite being just off the main road, it wasn't too noisy at all. There's a double wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors, with space to both hang and fold clothes. Also inside the wardrobe is an iron and ironing board, and a safe to store your valuables. The wardrobe area also had drawers to store more clothes or other belongings, so plenty of space! The room itself was very spacious and has all the amenities you'll require. A kettle, minibar, hairdryer, telephone, tv etc. However don't rely on the tv too much as almost every channel is foreign.

Hotel grounds
I mentioned above that we only left the hotel once; which was to try a restaurant nearby. The hotel resort has everything which means that you don't actually need to leave it, unless of course you want to. There's a shop where you can buy drinks, snacks, souvenirs, toiletries etc. a gym, spa, hair salon, and even an computer suite. The lobby has lots of space to just sit and relax, with a bar close by so you'll never go thirsty. The pool area has plenty of sun loungers, canapé style beds and tables and chairs if you fancy sitting out of the sun.

Food
Now on to the all important topic - food! We stayed All Inclusive which meant that we had Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner all at the hotel. The food in the main restaurant is served buffet style, meaning there's always plenty to choose from. At each meal time there's a chef cooking something fresh on the griddle/grill. Breakfast it's omelettes and fried eggs, and lunch/dinner it's usually some form of meat. Despite me being a fussy eater I always found something to eat, even if it was carbs most of the time lol. The only thing I could moan about was that they didn't serve enough chicken, the meats served were mostly lamb or turkey which I found strange for this country. The hotel has an a'la carte restaurant that you can book to eat at for an additional charge, but you do get one free dinner there with your stay. There's also a snack bar by the pool that serves pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, fries, salads etc. Oh and there's a little sandwich cafe type place in the hotel that serves ice cream and biscuits. In other words, your tummy will stay full!

I didn't write on cleanliness but let me just say the hotel is kept immaculate! Every part of the hotel is just spotless. We chose not to have our room cleaned as we kept it tidy ourselves, and didn't wanna add to the maid's workload! So to conclude; incase you can't already tell, I'd 100% recommend this hotel. Especially if you're looking for a nice relaxing trip, we had such a peaceful week - I couldn't fault a thing. Oh and the staff are all lovely from the concierge staff to the waiters; they sure make you feel welcome. I already cannot wait for my next visit!

Until next time...

So in July my friends and I went back to Croatia for Fresh Island Festival 2016 and it well let's just say it was the best holiday ever! A few of us went in 2015 for the same festival which was amazing, but 2016 just topped it off! Croatia has recently become the most popular party holiday, i'll give you a few reasons why...

1. Several festivals are held there a year: Fresh Island, Outlook, Hideout, Dimensions - the list goes on.

2. Their currency (Croatian Kuna) is great, you get so much for the pound e.g. the current exchange rate is 1 GBP > 8.50 HRK, and everything out there is very reasonably priced!

3. All the clubs in Novalja - where Fresh Island & Hideout are both held, are set on the beach. Ok it's a pebble beach but the water is clear and there's a lovely view. The clubs are big and open, they all have canapé beds, several bars and most of them have pools! Basically they just shit on London clubs.

I would definitely recommend Croatia specifically Fresh Island Festival, to anyone looking for a fun trip abroad! The festival itself usually runs for 2-3 days however there are pre parties as well as after parties, so there's a whole week long of events; consisting of pool, beach & boat parties, as well as other things such as sound clashes and water sports.

To anyone planning on going, I would suggest booking your own flights, transfers and accommodation, and just buying an events only wristband through the festival operators. Both times I've been I have booked a package (accommodation, transfers & events) and always experienced issues with the airport transfers and accommodation, therefore you are a lot better off booking these yourself.

For Fresh Island Festival you should look to stay in the Novalja/Pag Island area close to Zcre Beach - as that's where everything will be taking place. In terms of flights, the closest airport would be Zadar which is just over an hour away however you will find that flights to and from this airport will be rather pricey, as they have less flights scheduled. The other main airports are Split (2-3hrs away) or Zagreb (up to 5hrs). I would suggest to book flights through Skyscanner as they will show and compare flights to each airport in Croatia, including the smaller ones.

Below are some sites to help find accommodation/transfers:

Accomodation

www.novalja-pag.net/en/index.html
www.homeaway.co.uk
www.airbnb.co.uk

www.croatia-taxi.hr/
www.holidaytaxis.com/en/transfers/croatia/?show_labels=1

Hope my advice is of some use, and to anyone that does end up visiting I'd love to hear your experiences!

A few days after returning from St. Lucia, myself & two of my travel buds headed to Oslo, Norway. Our initial reason for visiting was to see Sir Tory Lanez in concert, as I was already away for all his other tour dates. However, the c*nt (excuse my french) decided to cancel the show without even a mention! If my friend hadn't been randomly browsing we wouldn't have even known, and would have faced the disappointment right at the venue lol. Despite alla that we decided to still go on the trip anyway, as we already had flights & a hotel booked, and had been wanting to visit Oslo for a while. It was a very short trip, we were only there for just over 24hrs but managed to do a little sight seeing after landing, just before heading to our hotel. Once we reached the hotel that was the end of us lol we planned to go out that night and find a decent club however we took a nap and well you know the rest! The next morning we woke up for breakfast and then spent some hours prancing around in the hotel room before having to check out. From what we saw Oslo is a small but lovely city, with very pretty houses and lots of hills lol I'm playing (no really). Our hotel (Radisson Blu Alna Oslo) was lovely though would defo recommend it, even has a mcdonalds opposite what more could you ask for! Not sure when I'll return if I do... I think someone needs to give me a reason to lol. Oh yeah to anyone that is planning on visiting, don't bother buying an Oslo travel pass as none of the stations have barriers or anything #teambumptrain

A few pics of the clean city that is Oslo... (lol)

Until next time...

Yeah I know I need to stop disappearing off the face of the earth... but I'm back, from my travels this time! I returned to St Lucia an island in the Caribbean, as I mentioned I would be doing in my last post. This time spending 12 days there as the previous 8 day trip just wasn't enough! Despite staying longer this time we still didn't get to do and see everything we wanted to which I'm still rather sad about, however it just gives me another excuse to go back lol. Anyway we still had a great time nevertheless, lots of drinking and partying - not so much relaxing! We stopped off in Barbados for a few hours before heading to St Lucia, although our stop over was only like 3 hours or so I thought we may still have managed to see a crumb of the island... I was wrong. Being in a group of 7, someone was bound to cause a delay. Turns out someone's luggage was overweight so we spent ages waiting for her luggage to arrive and then having to check it back in, paying a fee etc. So yeah our time in Barbados was cut short buuuut we did manage to try the famous Chefette that everyone talks about! (I now know why). So after a long day of travelling we eventually arrived at our villa around 9pm, normal people would call it a night but no we got ready and headed straight out lol. The second night was the opening of the Jazz Festival, where we saw Mavado! He isn't a great performer I won't lie but the night was vibes regardless. The rest of our time on the island was literally spent turning up at our events * #IslandXscape * so I won't bore you detailing how much alcohol I consumed. But what I will say is you haven't yet visited St. Lucia I would definitely recommend you do. There is a ton of culture to take in, beautiful scenery, night life... just everything really!

Here are some pictures from the trip..

The famous Chefette in Barbados!

Inside Barbados' airport - I thought this looked cool, don't ask.

A beautiful view of an island by the airport.

One of the best bar/restaurants in Gros Islet/Rodney Bay!

The colourful town that is Castries.

Not sure where this is but it was a lovely view!

Can you tell I love palm trees?!

Hey guys! Forgive me for the delayed return, as there has been a shortage in my travels recently due to being so busy with work; I have been quite stuck on what to post. I did travel to Amsterdam again over the weekend just gone, however, I believe I have shared enough of the Dam trips with you all and therefore decided against blogging the most recent lol. I did consider vlogging the trip instead however my camera has been having some technical difficulties so yeah that didn't go to plan. Anyways enough of that, I figured I could switch it up a little and do a post sharing travel tips and advice. There are several questions that I am asked quite frequently, so I will be covering those in this post.

I am quite often asked how I manage to travel so frequently, where I find deals etc. The truth is travelling does not need to break the bank, there are several work arounds and ways of saving money. It helps to be spontaneous as sometimes it's either last minute, random week days or season trips that work out to be the cheapest. As you can imagine weekends are the most popular times to travel due to majority of people either being off work or being able to travel with children etc. Therefore it's best to totally avoid weekend trips if possible, or even compromise to departing on a Friday and returning on a Monday, whilst the majority would be occupied with work. Just generally being flexible makes things a lot easier, we all prefer the convenient flight times and airports closer to home but being open to travelling a little further to fly out, or taking the 6am departure saves extra coins in the pocket.

Okay I'm starting to blab on a bit, so I'm going to list some tips to save your eyes the struggle of reading paragraphs!

1. Incognito/private browsing

This is major key when it comes to searching for holidays! When booking a trip do you tend to go through several searches before actually deciding on something? Yeah, we all do, and the more times a flight/hotel is searched the more popular it's shown to be. Popularity = price increases! Searching in incognito means none of your browsing history is saved therefore there is no record of how many times you've visited British Airways to check the price of flights to MIA!

2. Booking early

Despite recommending last minute deals unless you're very flexible in your search, it's rare that you will find something suitable. We all have this idea that flights decrease in price closer to the departure date, however this isn't entirely true. There are lots of last minute people out there so chances are several others are also browsing the same offers, and as above popularity = £+. Booking early not only means that you have more of a choice within your flight times, airports etc. but you also get the early prices and most flights would have numerous seats remaining so prices are less likely to rocket.

3. Do your research

When booking a trip ensure that you shop around before rushing into a reservation. I find comparison sites very useful, as your options are weighed up for you. There are so many different airlines and companies out there so instead of restricting yourself to just one or two, broaden your search and be open to trying out an airline you haven't travelled with before. However, be mindful of the hidden charges that often appear i.e. VAT or cabin baggage.

4. Be open/flexible

Personally I am very open to where I travel to which definitely does help (Obviously within reason, you wouldn't catch me flying to Syria). If you're looking to travel to the Caribbean in the height of Summer expect to see big prices! You have to be smart when booking, if you're able to travel in low season then do so. Chances are you will save a lump sum and still reap the benefits of the destination. I often find that the less popular places are the most delightful, almost like untouched hidden gems!

5. Low deposits & free reservations

Yes there are actually sites out there that offer free hotel reservations, either requesting for the cost of the room(s) to be paid on arrival, or shortly before. Booking.com & Expedia are two of the best for it! As for low deposits, talk about life savers. Putting down a low deposit in good time, allows you to secure the early price but still have a reasonable period of time to pay the trip off. I never say no to a deposit myself, it's not every day that we can randomly pay for something outright so planning ahead and securing your deal early saves a lot of stress!

Turns out I have a thing for paragraphs lol... Well that's pretty much all of the tips my tired brain has produced at present, if I think of or discover any more I will be sure to share them!

Look out for my next post which will most likely be from an island in the Caribbean :)

Last year I was luckily enough to travel a total of eight times, to seven different places so I thought it would be a shame not to share all those amazing trips with ya'll, which is why I've decided to kick off my blog with a timeline of 2015's travels.

JANUARY: BARCELONA, SPAIN

Barcelona is an amazing city with so much to see and do. We were there for 5 days and still didn't get to do everything we planned to (but our comfortable hotel beds may be partly to blame for this lol). They have great shopping centres, sights to see and even decent nightlife. It's actually more than great for shopping, they have their own Oxford Street - Catalunya area I believe, Westfield - Diagonal Mar and even their own Selfridges like department store - except I cannot remember the actual name of it, oops. Let's just say I got trigger happy with my bank card out there, and came home with a lot more luggage than expected! Their clubs are along the beach in the Passeig Maritim area which isn't too far from central. I must say the transport links that they have are fab, we managed to navigate round the city easily with a simple map. Unfortunately I cannot say much about the food, as we typically stuck to the fast food outlets such as Mcdonalds, KFC, Burger King etc. we weren't adventurous enough to try the local cuisine, although I don't doubt that it would have been nice. We did visit the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner though which was lovely, especially their cocktails - my favourite!

FEBRUARY: AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS

This was my second time in Amsterdam and to be honest I love the city more and more with every visit. It's such a bright and vibrant place with again so much to see and do. We stayed in the Arena Boulevard area this time, our hotel was right opposite the station (as well as a burger king which was ever so convenient!). As the transport links in Dam are so great, regardless of where you stay you'll always be in Centraal within no time. In our case it was about a 15 min journey which suited us fine. As it was a weekend trip we decided to go clubbing two nights in a row, both nights we found ourselves in Brasil bar which like every other club is in the Leidersplein area. This club in particular we took a liking to as it played all our favourite genres of music - Hip Hop, R&B, Bashment & Afrobeats and goes on until 4 in the morning. But the party didn't stop there, we managed to come out and find another place in the same square, that went on until past 7am. When we asked the security what time the club was closing he said 'I don't know maybe 7/8/9, whenever' and that, is why I love Amsterdam!

MARCH: STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

Sweden, Stockholm especially was a place I had wanted to visit for a while, and so when PartyNextDoor announced his Europe tour I thought what better reason to go! (Especially as London tickets sold out within seconds but let's not even talk about that). It seems everyone had the same idea as the concert was full of Londoners! We had a very fun couple of days out there, but didn't get to explore the city much as we spent the days getting turnt and the days recovering lol! The night life is rather good, considering that we didn't even go on a weekend. However we did witness some of the clubs moving a little 'bouji' with their admission policies, so perhaps do your reason before heading out. But Sweden I will definitely be returning soon as there's so much more of you that I need to explore!

APRIL: SOUSSE, TUNISIA

This holiday was just perfect. It was the first family holiday that I had in years, so it was nice to just take a break from everything and spend that much needed quality time. The resort we stayed in had pretty much everything that we needed, so the only time we left it was for our planned excursions or if we fancied eating out for dinner (all inclusive food gets quite sickening after a while). We had our own beautiful private beach and two large outdoor pools, as well as an indoor one - which meant that the beach was often empty, heaven!! For our excursions we went quad biking in the 'desert' (it was so fun though) and to the zoo where we got to feed the giraffes and go on a camel ride. Can I add that I now have a new found love for giraffes and camel rides are so much scarier than I imagined lol. Oh and the zoo keepers will offer to take your phone into the animal's habitat to take pictures for you, for a tip of course. Although it's literally pennies so you might as well! Unfortunately this was only offered to me with a cheetah, instead of my favourite animal (tiger). We also saw a cabaret show organised by Thomas Cook, I wasn't too keen on paying for this show but it was definitely worth it, we laughed from start to finish! If you're looking for a peaceful break that won't break the bank, Tunisia is a great shout!

MAY: ST LUCIA, CARIBBEAN

Where do I start with St. Lucia... I'd be lying if I said I didn't fall in love with the island. From the culture, to the food, to the night life... It was just the best! Our hotel was right on the beach, which meant that we woke up to a beautiful view of the clear blue sea and sun every morning. Okay I'm starting to sound like a holiday rep trying to sell ya'll something lol nah but honestly, if you haven't already you've gotta visit! May is a particularly good time to go, as they have their annual Jazz Festival (don't worry it's not actually just jazz music) where they have some great acts perform over a series of days. As this is a really busy time on the island so the night life is poppppin'. I'm always sad when leaving somewhere to come back to England, but I was super sad to be leaving this island. It's alright though cause I'll be back again this May to fall in love all over again! Haha.

SEPTEMBER: IBIZA, SPAIN

Ibiza is such a fun time! This was my second time going back but staying in a different area this time - Playa D'en Bossa. However, we still found ourselves going back to San Antonio as much as possible as our favourite and one of the only urban clubs resided there (Soul City we love you). For those of you that don't already know, Ibiza is a party island known for it's crazy nightlife. Despite having been twice I still don't believe I'm cut out for the Ibiza life, as fun as it is the non stop drinking and partying is too much for my old soul (I know I'm only 22 but still). I would definitely recommend everyone to go at least once though, they have some amazing clubs and parties that you have to experience. Particularly Ocean Beach Club & Zoo Project! I'm not a house head so I wouldn't recommend all the 12hr techno nights lol.

SEPTEMBER: MARRAKECH, MOROCCO

Morocco is another place that was always on my bucket list, and finally I managed to sway some friends into going! The weather was beautiful, the hotel grounds were beautiful but the food? Lol well let's just say two out of the three of us ended up with tummy bugs! The local cuisine definitely didn't agree with us, which sadly left us on edge for the rest of the trip. However, despite the food hiccup we still had an awesome time. We stayed in the newer city, which meant that a lot of area around us was still being renovated but we didn't mind as everything that we needed was in close proximity. We booked to go on a quad biking & camel ride excursion (again), which was a lot of fun! I was still nervous of the camels though lol I had one right behind/beside me which felt the need to rub up on me every other minute. We also went to the medina which is their market, where we got to see how argon oil was made and some other cool stuff. Just be on your toes as there can be some dodgy people around and a lot of hagglers - don't be afraid to say no! But if you are interested in purchasing something it's time for you to haggle them, don't accept the initial price as chances as they're bumping you! Another thing to watch out for is their roads, they drive like lunatics with no means of safety so what sounds like a simple task of crossing the road turns into a bloody chore! Motorbikes are very common in Marrakech, as is having 3 people sharing one - even with children. Anyway let's end this on a positive, french trap music is lit! If you go clubbing whilst in Morocco you're bound to experience the club going crazy over it. There has never been a time that I have wanted to understand French so much!

DECEMBER: AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam is always a good idea, hence why I decided to return! This time however, was to celebrate my 22nd birthday. We stayed in a pretty looking apartment not too far from central, as we were a group of 6. As it was a few of my friends' first time in Dam we attempted to do some touristy stuff, but this didn't ideally go to plan as the girls were very fond of their sleep lol. We did still manage to go to the Museum of Prostitution though, which was worth the €7 (?) entry. You get  an insight of how it is living as one of the Red Light girls through stories, pictures, videos & even room exhibitions. We also took a stroll through the Red Light District, hit up some coffee shops - the typical Amsterdam must do's, and of course hit the clubs! However as we went during the week, I must say the night life wasn't as lively as we had anticipated - despite it being the week of christmas and all! But, Brasil bar never fails... we managed to shake a leg or two there! Lastly let's talk about food, when you're in Dam it's inevitable that you're going to eat a lot! Besides the regular KFC trips we hit up Hard Rock (incase you can't tell by now, I love me some Hard Rock Cafe), a Nutella bar where we had the finest waffles and even tried a ting ordering from a NL version of JustEat! Lol. Our amazing Uber driver (Shout out Jamal) told us about some 24hr burger and pizza places cause when hunger strikes!! Quick tip though, don't order a feast at 5am and expect it all to arrive. We were missing 12 wings and never heard from them again LOL

Well that's my 2015 travels in a not so small nutshell! Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it, talk to ya'll in my next post
