So in July my friends and I went back to Croatia for Fresh Island Festival 2016 and it well let's just say it was the best holiday ever! A few of us went in 2015 for the same festival which was amazing, but 2016 just topped it off! Croatia has recently become the most popular party holiday, i'll give you a few reasons why...

1. Several festivals are held there a year: Fresh Island, Outlook, Hideout, Dimensions - the list goes on.

2. Their currency (Croatian Kuna) is great, you get so much for the pound e.g. the current exchange rate is 1 GBP > 8.50 HRK, and everything out there is very reasonably priced!

3. All the clubs in Novalja - where Fresh Island & Hideout are both held, are set on the beach. Ok it's a pebble beach but the water is clear and there's a lovely view. The clubs are big and open, they all have canapé beds, several bars and most of them have pools! Basically they just shit on London clubs.

I would definitely recommend Croatia specifically Fresh Island Festival, to anyone looking for a fun trip abroad! The festival itself usually runs for 2-3 days however there are pre parties as well as after parties, so there's a whole week long of events; consisting of pool, beach & boat parties, as well as other things such as sound clashes and water sports.

To anyone planning on going, I would suggest booking your own flights, transfers and accommodation, and just buying an events only wristband through the festival operators. Both times I've been I have booked a package (accommodation, transfers & events) and always experienced issues with the airport transfers and accommodation, therefore you are a lot better off booking these yourself.

For Fresh Island Festival you should look to stay in the Novalja/Pag Island area close to Zcre Beach - as that's where everything will be taking place. In terms of flights, the closest airport would be Zadar which is just over an hour away however you will find that flights to and from this airport will be rather pricey, as they have less flights scheduled. The other main airports are Split (2-3hrs away) or Zagreb (up to 5hrs). I would suggest to book flights through Skyscanner as they will show and compare flights to each airport in Croatia, including the smaller ones.

Below are some sites to help find accommodation/transfers:

Hope my advice is of some use, and to anyone that does end up visiting I'd love to hear your experiences!
